La Rioja, Spain’s most beautiful wine region, is a paradise for food and wine enthusiasts. Discover rolling vineyard-covered hills, unspoiled medieval villages, and the majestic backdrop of the Cantabrian Mountains. This land of legendary wines, rich culture, and breathtaking scenery offers an unparalleled experience for those seeking the best of fine dining, historic sites, and world-class wineries.
This region is also deeply connected to the famous Way of Saint James pilgrimage route and boasts a wealth of cultural treasures. Beyond its capital, Logroño, explore historical gems such as Santo Domingo de la Calzada with its iconic cathedral and San Millán de la Cogolla, home to the Suso and Yuso monasteries, both UNESCO World Heritage Sites. Known as the birthplace of the first written words in the Spanish language, La Rioja holds a special place in Spain’s history.
A visit to La Rioja is an invitation to step into one of Spain’s most historically strategic regions. Nestled between the Ebro Valley, the Iberian System, and the Cantabrian Mountains, La Rioja has long been a crossroads for travelers, merchants, and armies. Proof of this is the ancient Roman road Italy-Hispania and the Camino de Santiago, both of which have played a vital role in connecting La Rioja to the rest of the world. But beyond its geographical significance, what truly defines La Rioja is its people—the warmth of its locals, the hidden corners that reveal its rich traditions, and the sense of belonging that visitors inevitably feel when exploring this remarkable land.
Riojan wines are legendary. You will taste magnificent wines, from historic, family-run Calaos (traditional underground wine cellars) to renowned high-end wineries and contemporary boutique estates. While La Rioja is famous for its red wines—particularly those crafted from Tempranillo grapes—the region also produces exceptional white, rosé, sweet, and sparkling wines.
Your journey will take you to some of La Rioja’s most breathtaking historic sites, while also introducing you to the region’s major grape varieties, including Graciano, Garnacha, and Tempranillo. Every winery visit includes VIP access and private tastings, ensuring an exclusive and immersive experience.
But what is wine without its perfect culinary counterpart?
